When SHS is closed, you still have access to medical advice. Call 911 for emergencies, but if you just want to talk to a nurse about an issue, call (252) 328-6841 for instructions on how to use our free, 24 hr nurse line. You can also find self care information for treating your problem on our self care page, or you can submit a question to gotquestions@ecu.edu.

Be advised that occasionally during the semester the campus may experience inclement weather, division events, or other campus issues which may vary our hours of operation.

Announcements

Cold and Flu link button

Flu cases are on the rise.

Most cases can be safely managed at home, using over the counter medications to help symptoms. Need to self report that you have COVID or flu? Log in to PiratePort for the self reporting form. Students can use the self report if they have had a positive home test, been diagnosed by a health care provider, or if they believe their symptoms are consistent with COVID or flu. Self reporting is NOT a class excuse and cannot be used multiple times per semester, but it is a way to notify professors of illness. Students should still contact professors directly about any missed classes or assignments.

Check out Respiratory Virus Guidelines and Information for more information on how to manage COVID, flu, and other colds and viruses this winter.
